New divers often tell me that purchasing scuba diving equipment for the first time can be a confusing experience. There is such a vast price difference between entry-level and top-of-the-line products that beginners usually have no idea what they should buy.  I’m going to try to shed a bit of light on the subject right now.

As all seasoned divers can tell you, having the right scuba diving equipment is essential for ensuring a safe and enjoyable outing. While the bargain hunter in you might automatically look for the cheapest products available, I would advise spending a bit more money for quality gear. After all, in some instances your life could depend on this scuba diving equipment, so this isn’t the time to cut corners.

That’s not to say that you have to resign yourself to paying thousands of dollars for your supplies. In fact, you can outfit yourself with all the gear you need for a very reasonable price — especially if you choose to buy your scuba diving equipment online.

kirkscubagear sells name-brand scuba diving equipment for discount prices. My website is essentially a superstore that has access to more inventory.  Because of my distributors, I can purchase my products with a click of the computer key  and I  get great prices from the manufacturers, and pass those discounts on to the consumer. As a result, you can buy the quality gear you really want instead of settling for the cut-rate stuff.

Of course, some scuba diving equipment,  such as wetsuits,  dive boots, gloves,  fins, will require a specific size before ordering. It’s important that you know your measurements prior to placing your order. (size charts are available and accurate) Other items, such as regulators, masks, snorkels, and lights obviously fall into the one-size-fits-all category and can be ordered without worry.

Some people might be apprehensive about buying such expensive scuba diving equipment online, which is completely understandable. I offer a no hassle return policy, and to date have had one return for a reason of fit in two years doing business on the net!!!

kirkscubgear has a phone number for customers to call with any inquiries. (519–641-4948)

Just make sure you actually get out there and dive a few times a year. There’s no sense in letting all your new gear collect dust in your basement!

About Kathy Dowsett

I believe in protecting our oceans, lakes and rivers, as well as their aquatic life. I respect the work of conservation groups such as Save the Sharks, Save the Sea Turtles and Save our Wrecks. I believe that the use of plastic bags/bottled water should be discouraged as plastic finds its way to the ocean. I also support Diving for the Disabled and Swimming for the Disabled. As a PADI-certified diver, my interest in diving led to the opening in July 2008 of kirkscubagear, my online business. My site offers more than 2,000 products, including freediving, swimming and outdoor equipment. My continuing goal is to encourage diving and offer customers a shopping alternative for the purchase of scuba gear.

I just want to thank you again for taking the time to answer my questions about diving gear. As a new diver it is not easy finding the right equipment and it definitely helps to be able to talk to someone who is a real diver and with a lot of experience in this field. Will definitely return for my future diving needs!

I personally prefer shopping for diving gear online because I don’t live near a diving shop and i get to compare prices among many online shops.
